How large are the classes? Amazing Heart believes that people learn better in smaller learning environments. We work to keep our class sizes between 5- 8 students.

What is an AED? Automated External Defibrillator. It is used to “jump start” the heart when it is not beating normally. Amazing Heart and the American Heart Association do not endorse any specific brand of defibrillator.

Is there a written exam for the CPR/BLS? Yes. The American Heart Association requires each student to complete a written exam in order to obtain a provider card.

What score must I receive to pass the course? All students must pass with an 85% or better.

Do the Amazing Heart instructors work for the American Heart Association? No. We are certified by and held to the guidelines of the American Heart Association. However, we are employed and compensated from Amazing Heart, LLC.

Are the Amazing Heart Nurses/Owners board certified? Yes. We are certified through the Arizona State Board of Nursing.

May I complete the skills check-off for BLS prior to taking the online course through the American Heart Association? No. A certificate of completion must be submitted to an instructor prior to completing the skills check-off. A payment for the online course is submitted to the American Heart Association and a payment is submitted to Amazing Heart for the skills check-off. Please refer to the “links” page.

Do I have to purchase a student workbook prior to taking the CPR courses? Purchasing a book is encouraged. However, we will provide a book in class for review only. Students may also review CPR skills on the American Heart Association website http://www.americanheart.org. Please refer to the links page.

I have knee or back limitations. Will I be able to take a class? Yes. We will accommodate individuals with physical limitations to the best of our ability.

Is the equipment cleaned regularly? Yes. Infection control is our priority! Equipment is cleaned after each use with solutions that are suggested by the CDC and equipment manufacturers.

Why do I have to remove my lipstick before practicing CPR on the equipment? We want everyone to look their best. However, lipstick and lip gloss leaves stains on the equipment that is very difficult to remove. Lipstick sometimes can be transferred from the face shields if the face shield is improperly placed.

Will I have to put my bare mouth on the equipment? No. All students will be provided personal face shields when practicing CPR.

Should I bring a snack to class? Yes. We hope it is a heart healthy snack! Amazing Heart does not provide snacks. There is a refrigerator and kitchenette on the premises if needed.

Can Amazing Heart invoice my company for courses taught at my location? Yes. Please contact an Amazing Heart instructor for more details.

If I am unable to attend my prepaid class, will my fees be refunded? No. There are no refunds. However, Amazing Heart will reschedule your class date. Please contact a course instructor for assistance.

Will I receive any information on how to prepare for my class? Yes. All students will receive a welcome letter with instructions for the class via email (postal mail for those with no email account). If there are further questions or concerns, please contact a course instructor.
